Let’s Build Something Together

Accu-Cut’s wire EDM services are used in machining components, such as prototypes and in modifying existing parts which require accurate machining.

What is Electrical Discharge Machining?

Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) creates microscopically accurate cuts utilizing an electrically charged wire (usually brass) rather than a bit, endmill or blade. Wire EDM uses electrical conductivity to create white-hot sparks that melt away tiny metal particles. Electrically non-conductive dielectric fluid, or deionized water, is used to control the intensity of the sparks along the wire and flush out molten metal material once the voltage is removed.

The result? Precision cuts you couldn’t imagine achieving with more traditional methods. Wire EDM makes Accu-Cut capable of handling highly precise cuts for prototypes or high volume production parts.

What industries do you work with?

The accuracy of wire EDM machines and the resulting cost effective small volume production runs have attracted many industries to our wire EDM services. Accu-Cut’s total commitment to our customers’ needs is the foundation for our quality performance and craftsmanship. This basis has opened the gates to over 35 years of success in many industries, including the Oil & Gas, Construction, Green Energy, Food Processing & Manufacturing, Recycling, Healthcare & Medical, Aerospace, Agricultural, Military & Defense, Automotive, Power Generation, Mining, Transportation and Bioscience Industries.

What are the uses of Electrical Discharged Machining?
  • Small work pieces that may be damaged from conventional machining or traditional techniques
  • Complex shapes
  • Parts that need to hold accurate tolerances
  • Delicate or weak materials; extremely strong materials; exotic metals.
What are your turn-around times?

Depending on the size and complexity of your project, our turn-around time can be as little as a few days! We provide our customers with the quick turnaround times and on time delivery they require. Projects typically require a lead time of only 1 – 2 weeks. Submit your drawings for a more accurate estimate of how long your project should take.
